Where Is Every Member of the Psych Cast Now?

Since the show wrapped up in 2014, everyone from the USA Network original series Psych has kept busy.

Psych wrapped up as a series in 2014 after eight seasons full of mystery and hijinks. Fortunately for fans, that wasn’t the end. There have since been three movies that kept the franchise going and allowed the actors fans fell in love with to perform as these characters a little while longer.

Sadly, a fourth movie hasn’t been announced, even if the cast and creator are game. That means we may have seen the last of the crew from Psych — for a while, anyway. Still, that doesn't mean there isn't a place to see some of your favorites from Psych working in the business today.

To help keep track, we're running through the cast of the hit USA Network series below to see what they've been up to recently. Read on for more.

James Roday Rodriguez (Shawn Spencer)

James Roday Rodriguez

Without a doubt, the lead of this ensemble cast is James Roday Rodriguez’s Shawn Spencer, Psych's resident "psychic." After pretending his finely honed observational skills are actually a psychic gift, Shawn finds himself working as a consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department alongside his best friend, Burton "Gus" Guster (Dulé Hill). Antics ensue, with some around him believing in his "psychic abilities" and his private detective agency — the aptly named "Psych" — while others scoff.

Since Psych ended, Rodriguez has done a handful of movies such as Pushing Dead and, of course, three more turns in Psych movies: Psych: The Movie (2017), Psych 2: Lassie Come Home (2020), and Psych 3: This Is Gus (2021). After cutting his teeth in the director's chair on a few episodes of the show, he also took on a handful of TV projects as a director.

However, his biggest claim to fame since Psych has been his role as Gary Mendez in the ABC series A Million Little Things. The show focuses on a group of friends from Boston who are each inspired to live life to the fullest following the unexpected death of a close friend. The show ran for five seasons from 2018 to 2023.

Rodriguez also recently directed two episodes of ABC's hit freshman series High Potential starring Kaitlin Olson, who plays Morgan Gillory, another hyper-intelligent, highly observational police consultant in the mold of Shawn Spencer.

Dulé Hill (Burton "Gus" Guster)

Dule Hill

Dulé Hill was the heart and soul of Psych as Burton "Gus" Guster, Shawn’s intrepid best friend who always joined him (albeit reluctantly) on his misadventures.

Thanks to his very memorable role on The West Wing (1999-2006) as Charlie Young, Hill had a lucrative career before joining the cast of Psych. Since the show ended, he’s kept busy working in TV, with runs on popular TV series such as Ballers, SuitsBlack MondayThis Is Us, and Good American Family. He also starred as family patriarch Bill Williams in the remake of The Wonder Years series for its two-season run.

On stage, Hill more recently gained critical acclaim for his leading role in Lights Out: Nat "King" Cole, a play about the last broadcast of the legendary crooner's variety show.

Maggie Lawson (Juliet "Jules" O'Hara)

Maggie Lawson

Maggie Lawson played the only detective to truly recognize Shawn’s gifts (although whether or not she believed they were supernatural is debatable), Detective Juliet "Jules" O'Hara. Eventually, she became his wife, but the audience met her as a capable and tough-as-nails detective first.

Since the show ended, Lawson has kept busy in the world of television. In addition to a handful of TV movies, many of which are centered on Christmas, Lawson has flexed her comedy chops on popular shows such as Two and a Half Men, Angel From Hell, The Ranch, Outmatched, and Santa Clarita Diet.

More recently, she starred in the holiday TV movie A Lot Like Christmas alongside Christopher Russell and Sugarplummed

She announced in 2021 that she and Psych co-star Timothy Omundson (more on him below) would reunite for a series rewatch podcast, The Psychologists Are In, which is still running today.

Timothy Omundson (Carlton "Lassie" Lassiter)

Timothy Omundson

Timothy Omundson starred in Psych as Detective Carlton "Lassie" Lassiter, Shawn's frenemy in the police department who worked overtime to disprove Shawn's psychic abilities. (He was right, of course, but what would be the fun in disproving them?)

In addition to joining Lawson for a podcast all about the show they both love, Osmundson got involved with voice acting in video games and other projects after Psych ended. He spent some time back in the world of live-action on the show Galavant from 2015-2016.

However, he faced some real medical problems in 2017 when he suffered a stroke that nearly killed him.

He previously told TVLine that doctors weren’t sure he’d ever walk again, let alone act. However, through determination, expert medical advice, and a lot of work in physical therapy, he was able to not only come back for two more Psych movies, but he had a seven-episode run on This Is Us before its finale.

Omundson also recently starred as the Greek god Hephaestus in Disney+'s adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Corbin Bernsen (Henry Spencer)

Corbin Bernsen

A retired police sergeant, Henry Spencer, played by Corbin Bernsen, trained his son, Shawn, from an early age. It's thanks to those observational skills that Psych exists — but that doesn't mean Henry and Shawn's relationship is an easy one.

Thanks to noteworthy roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Major League, Bernsen was already an in-demand star going into the show’s premiere. However, he stuck around as Shawn Spencer’s hard-nosed father throughout the series.

Once the show ended, Bernsen continued to make appearances on various TV shows, including Grace and Frankie, Powerless, American Gods, The ResidentThe Curse, and many more.

His most recent recurring role is as Sinclair Dryden on the Showtime series City on a Hill, as a decidedly darker character than Henry Spencer.

Kristen Nelson (Karen Vick)

Kirsten Nelson

Kristen Nelson played the interim chief of police for the Santa Barbara Police Department, Karen Vick, who was highly capable but still looked the other way from Shawn and Gus’ wild antics. She was in on the joke, but accepted it because of all the cases they helped solve.

After the show ended, Nelson appeared as a guest star on several shows — including some similar to Psych — such as NCIS: New Orleans, K.C. Undercover, This Is Us, and Bluff City Law. For the most part, she seems to spend her time in the public eye championing social causes that are near and dear to her heart and, like the rest of us, waiting for her next chance to play Vick in the Psych franchise.

You can watch every episode of Psych on Peacock right now.
