WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event Match Card (July 12, 2025)
WWE legend Goldberg returns for the latest installment of Saturday Night's Main Event.
Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC is the gift that keeps on giving for members of the WWE Universe.
It seems like something memorable happens every time the quarterly prime time event hits the airwaves, whether it's Jey Uso successfully defending a top championship against Logan Paul or John Cena destroying his former friend R-Truth in near-record time. Thankfully, the July 12 edition of SNME should bring more can't-miss WWE moments to your television, highlighted by one colossal title match fans never thought they'd see.
Here is the official match lineup for Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12.
Gunther vs. Goldberg - World Heavyweight Championship
The long-teased dream match is finally happening at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12, and the WWE Universe couldn't be more excited. Almost one year ago, Goldberg memorably jumped the barricade to confront Gunther at Bad Blood 2024 in one of the night's most unexpected moments. As it turns out, it was just a hint of things to come.
Somewhat surprisingly, Goldberg has stayed out of the public eye ever since, waiting for the right moment to stand toe-to-toe with the World Heavyweight Champion once again.
During the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, the WWE Hall of Famer finally laid down the long-awaited challenge:
WWE couldn't make the match official fast enough. July 12 will be when the WWE Universe is treated to one of the most can't-miss matches in SNME history: Gunther defending the World Heavyweight Title against one of the greatest icons in pro wrestling history.
It goes without saying that this is a match no fan thought they'd ever see. But when you're a legend like Goldberg, you possess the gravitas to jump the line and demand a title match on one of the biggest events of the summer! And as everyone knows, Goldberg is arguably the most physically dominant force in professional wrestling history; he's steamrolled through opponents like Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker before, so why wouldn't he be able to do the same against The Ring General?
Of course, Gunther doesn't seem like a champion who will allow his second World Heavyweight Championship reign to end at the hands of a retired Superstar. He's built a resume of nothing but definitive title defenses after title defense, and Goldberg will be Gunther's toughest test yet.
Win, lose, or draw, this match is beyond worthy of headlining a show like Saturday Night's Main Event.
Gunther and Goldberg are throwing down for the World Heavyweight Championship. Mark your calendars, everybody. You won't want to miss this one.
Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight
After weeks and weeks of getting ambushed by Seth Rollins and his cronies, LA Knight extracted a tiny bit of revenge against Mr. Money in the Bank during the June 30 episode of Monday Night Raw:
Although Knight needed some misdirection in the form of an impromptu brawl between Rollins, CM Punk, and World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, to do it, he managed to give Rollins the beatdown he deserved. But in true WWE fashion, the animosity between the two Superstars won't end with either man walking away from each other... yet. At Saturday Night's Main Event, Rollins and Knight will face each other in an intriguing one-on-one match with significant ramifications for the rest of the year!
LA Knight should probably consider investing in some backup for SNME. While Rollins will surely be flanked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Knight's trusted allies have been conspicuous in their absence for a while now.
In other words, the Megastar has been a lone wolf for most of his WWE career, and it may be time for him to see which Superstars in the locker room will have his back. Failing to do so may lead to a match result all too familiar to the WWE Universe: Seth Rollins cackling with glee as he and his cohorts give Knight a beatdown he'll never forget.
Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre
When you're as iconic as Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, your paths are bound to cross more than usual. At Saturday Night's Main Event, a freshly returned McIntyre will look to get his career back on track by dispatching the Viper in a one-on-one match.
The Scottish Psychopath would love nothing more than to defeat his fellow SmackDown Superstar and start his slow climb back to the Undisputed WWE Championship. Still, Randy Orton (and his devastating RKO finishing move) poses a formidable threat to that plan. Either way, this recently announced match makes for an excellent addition to the match lineup on July 12; who knew the WWE Universe would be this lucky to get to witness something like this?
Longtime fans know that these two men have found themselves on opposite sides of the ring with each other before. In fact, Orton and McIntyre once competed inside Hell in a Cell back in 2020:
While no championship will be on the line this time around, that doesn't mean the drama will be any less prevalent between two of the biggest Superstars in WWE.
Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy Uso - United States Championship
Solo Sikoa's United States Championship reign is just a few weeks old, but that doesn't mean he gets any nights off: He'll be putting his title on the line against Jimmy Uso at Saturday Night's Main Event!
The latest developments in the years-long Bloodline saga have once again pulled Jimmy Uso into the chaos. During the July 4 episode of SmackDown, Sikoa and his allies destroyed former U.S. Champion Jacob Fatu, setting the stage for Jimmy Uso to step up at SNME to try to take the belt away from Solo:
The WWE Universe hasn't truly seen what Solo is capable of as champion; if Jimmy Uso is successful, fans may never get a chance to!
